Teeing off in Cavite

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
"Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go." – William Feather

Hong Kong Shanghai Bank Corp.’s (HSBC) success and influence extends beyond the business world. HSBC recently concluded its very successful first-ever Invitational Golf Tournament at the EagleRidge Golf and Country Club in General Trias, Cavite. HSBC’s premier customers, corporate clients and special friends took part in a friendly competition that utilized all three championship and world-class courses Norman, Faldo and Dye, all 18 holes of challenge and sheer golfing pleasure!

The ceremonial tee-off was led by a truly great banker, golfer and friend, HSBC CEO Warner Manning. He was joined by special guests Central Bank Gov. Rafael Buenaventura and Bankers Association of the Philippines executive director Leonilo Coronel. The champions for the gold, silver, bronze and Ladies Invitational were Manolo Agojo; Dresdner Bank CEO Cesar Virtusio; Jose del Rosario; and Linnel de Villa, respectively. Runners-up were Raul Magpantay, Samson Enriquez, Antonio Ortigas and Alicia Jose.

The champions from the various divisions won No. 3 and No. 5 Adams Idea I-Wood and Cleveland 400 cc Drivers from Pacsports, special edition HSBC golf bags, and HSBC Mabuhay Miles Visa Gold credit cards loaded with P10,000. All the guests had a wonderful time partaking of the sumptuous buffet, as well as some of the superb wines provided by Hunter Valley Wine Society, one of the sponsors of this exciting event. I heard that many signed up for membership when they sampled the excellent selection of their quality wines!

Congratulations to the winners and congratulations to HSBC for such a successful event!
