The spiritof giving

"Our dreams, goals and ideas come from our values. If what we are doing does not come from what we care about most in life, it is meaningless." G. Lynne Snead & Joyce Wycoff
The blessed Christmas season is finally here, a time of joyous gift-giving and cheerful re-unions. Expensive presents, bountiful feasts and grand family gatherings may make us forget the real meaning of Christmas, which is love for our less fortunate neighbors. That is why it is always a delight to be invited to charitable functions like the recent Chateau Mouton Rothschilds Grand Charity Dinner.
Distinguished guests attended this black-tie dinner to give smiles to Bantay Batas street children and victims of child abuse. A parade of palate-pleasing dishes foie gras, wild mushrooms, coral trout, pan-roasted lamb and Vahlrona chocolate were served with an impeccable wine selection generously provided by Tita Trillo, the Wine Queen of Anthonys Wines and Spirits.
Best-loved wines such as Sauternes 1997, Mouton Cadet Blanc 2000 and Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 1998 were in ample supply for the guests to appreciate. Acclaimed wines such as Chateau Mouton Rothschild ler Cru Classe 1989, Chateau Armaillhac 5 eme cru Classe 1996 and Chateau Coutet 1997 underscored the importance of the affair.
A highlight of the exceptional charity dinner was the auction of Grand Crus wines generously donated by Baron Philippe de Rothschild.
Headlining the A-list dinner-for-a-cause were Anthonys Wines and Spirits president, the ever glowing Tita Trillo; debonair wine connoisseur Thierry de Tourniel, GM of Baron Philippe de Rothschild Orient; the radiant ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Gina Lopez; the elegant Marie Carmen de Elizalde; bubbly French Ambassador Renee Veyret; and the lovely Miss Mouton Cadet 2003, Jenny Santi. To Anthonys Wines and Rothschild, we toast to your goodwill and open handedness!
Happy holidays!
