The men women wish for this christmas

The streets of Metro Manila are aglow with lights since Christmas is just around the corner.

Now, let’s look into what some ladies have to say about the kind of man they want as a gift from Santa.

• Marou Pahati Sarne, DWIZ broadcaster: "Someone caring, patient, respectful. It doesn’t matter anymore whether he is guwapo or rich as long as he understands the woman and respects her individuality."

• Susan Gaddi-Campos, artist: "God-fearing, hard-working, humble, brainy, faithful, tall, good-looking and a good cook."

• Milen Ramos, clinical psychologist: "He need not be taken care of but can be cared for very much. Sporty, with a scientific mind, but has faith in God, has regular prophylaxis for his teeth and clean toenails. In short, hindi baling di guwapo basta mabait."

• Susan Warren-Mercado, development consultant: "On top of everything else, I’d say reliability. It is the quality that spells thoughtfulness and understanding. It’s that quality in a man that makes for a long and meaningful relationship and allows the mutual and well-rounded growth of partners."

• Tina Gonzales, ABS-CBN Distance Learning Center principal: "I like strength in men, both physical and in disposition. One should be my equal in drive and will to achieve more than the average in life."

• Anonymous (a government agency director.) "One with integrity, is dependable and with a sense of humor."

• Anonymous (a real estate broker): "Loving, responsible, generous, thoughtful, patient, with perseverance, peaceful, with a good sense of humor, with love of God and Mama Mary and a gentleman. Does this gentleman exist in this time? Indeed, I’m a dreamer and in love with love. All is possible with God. I will dream on forever."

• Wyette Liamzon, businesswoman, San Rafael, Bulacan: "I think the women today tend to look into the emotional and financial stability of a man. The women get attracted to someone who is emotionally mature and someone who knows how to treat and take care of a woman. Thus the traditional gentleman is still the most likable and lovable one."

• Diana Franco, lawyer: "Bright, interested in many fields of study, kind and sincere."

• Corree Navarro-Cadenas, housewife: "He should be God-fearing and all else will follow."

• Bernadette Halili, administrative officer: "I like men who are industrious, loving, wise and religious."

• Ester Singson, Medico secretary. "God-fearing, caring, responsible and with a sense of humor... at siyempre guapo... pareho ng mga type mo, doktora."

• Joan del Rosario, Chanel cosmetics consultant, Calgary, Alberta, Canada: "I like men who know what I want before I ask, caring and thoughtful, somebody who has a strong faith in the Lord and a good man."

• Ann Marquez, registered staff nurse, London, England: "Honest, has fear in God and with strong fighting spirit."

Even mothers are hoping that someday their daughters will get to meet the right kind of men who will give them a comfortable and blissful married life. Yes, even I am praying that my daughter, Bernadette will make the right decision in choosing her future partner in life. I pray that she chooses a responsible family man who is morally upright, with the right attitudes and values about love, life and marriage. In short, a man who is not psychologically incapacitated and has no personality disorder.
