Congratulations to the Asian Cultural Council for a magnificently successful premiere of the latest Broadway hit, Flower Drum Song with the Philippines’ pride and joy Tony awardee Lea Salonga taking the center stage at New York, literally led by the Rockefeller family were in attendance included the icons of New York City’s elite.

The statements of Steven and Barbara Rockefeller say it all and I quote, "We are happy to be part of this great evening of theater and proudly salute the efforts of the Asian Cultural Council and our colleagues in the Philippines."
When Brits and Pinoys meet
The Philippine British Society held a general membership meeting at Fernando’s restaurant at the Rockwell Club, Makati with Ambassador Raul Goco as guest speaker and British Ambassador Paul Dimond and his charming wife, Carolyn as guests of honor.

The event began with cocktails where both the Filipino and British members reacquainted themselves. The evening ’s highlight was a speech delivered by former Solicitor General Raul Goco. He stressed the importance of Filipino and British relations. He also emphasized that members should do their share to cultivate Philippine-British ties to further strengthen the already solid mutual understanding between the two countries.

Ambassador Paul Dimond expressed his wish for the continuation of the good relations between the two countries.
One-man art exhibit
JB Ablaza Macatulad’s highly successful first solo art exhibit, Kind of Blue: Jazz Revisited was launched at the Podium recently.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by former Education Secretary Raul Roco who was accompanied by art patrons and JB’s proud aunts Mellie Ablaza, Telly Ablaza Aldana and Cris Ablaza.
