A smoky evening

"Make sure the thing youre living for is worth dying for." Charles Mayes
Century Park Hotel was the venue of three memorable events. First, the inauguration of the Cellar Bar; second, the U.S. Cigar Club Dinner; and lastly, the introduction of the new Cigar Club president, Barry Barker.
The Cellar was recently inaugurated under the proprietorship of Bobby Joseph, popularly known for his Philippine Wine Mechants and Ralphs Wines and Spirits. The Cellar, with its multiple-anchored doorways and five KTV rooms, is the cozy home of the U.S. Cigar Club. The regular Cigar Club dinner under the leadership of its new president Barry Barker took place with the guests enjoying cocktail food prepared by the hotels executive chef Rudy Velasco and his fabulous team.
No less than Century Park Hotel GM Bobby Carpio introduced Barry Baker as the new Cigar Club president by offering him an unlighted La Florida de la Isabela cigar. Witnessing the memorable event were the regular cigar club attendees like Bobby Josephs brother Ralph, Boyet Sison of V, Ramon Monzon of Carousel Production, Richard Bherke of the US Embassy, Annette Ablan, lawyer Dion De La Serna, Travel Girl 2002 Grace Coloso, Buddy Roa, NBN4s Toby Nebrida, Buhoy Virata and Daily Tribunes Heidi Ng.
Assorted grilled sausages and delicious oven-baked whole salmon in salt crust complemented the pork knuckle with sauerkraut and mixed sauteed vegetables, a steaming seafood gumbo soup appeased the appetite of the guests, priming them to enjoy the assorted cold cuts and the penne al pesto. Capping the feast was a choice of deserts such as fruits of the season, bitesized pastries and delicious fruit tarts and lemon cheesecake.
The festivities ended near midnight with the Cigar Club members expressing their delight at their new home, the Cellar Bar and in having a new president.
