Innocence lost and found on a STARry-Sari Night

-
The night of May 15 was a red-hot combination of fashion and passion when the STAR Dream Girls took to the ramp modeling the latest Sari-Sari collection at jumping party place Venezia.

The STAR’s new Sunday section Allure was also launched on that rousing night dubbed STARry-Sari Night. Focusing on love, relationships, and all that brings color and romance to a woman’s existence, Allure puts the spotlight on women’s deepest passions.

Produced by the indefatigable Sari-Sari advertising and promotions director GP Reyes, STARry-Sari Night featured 15 Dream Girls–Jeanne Harn, Fiona Anne Young, Mikaela Lagdameo, Charmille Shartle, Ma. Elizabeth Cope, Hazel Llever, Ma. Del Carmen Antigua, Marie Niña Strawberry Sanchez, Karlin Lareza, Luane Dy, Niña Angelina Tanchanco, Fatima Ann Lampa, Francesca Louise Litton, Alta Redor and Abbu Mejias–modeling the latest Sari-Sari collection following the theme "innocence lost and found." The collection showed the ladies at their coyingly innocent and their vampiest best.

Their looks screamed Britney Spears’ I’m-Not-A-Girl, Not-Yet-A-Woman to sophisticated Western Cowgirl Madonna. Their clothes ranged from lady-like to hippie-geek, from medieval peasant to gypsy. Uncorrupted innocence and the naughty tendency to experiment was what the collection was about.

The by-invitation-only event attracted partyphiles to Venezia which was packed elbow-to-elbow with beautiful people who clapped, hooted and shouted "I love you!" as their fave gals sashayed on the ramp. By night’s end, 19-year-old Francesca Louise Litton, a Political Economics student at the University of Asia and the Pacific, was proclaimed as Sari-Sari Dream Girl of the Night, having garnered the most votes from the ladies who attended the event. She won P10,000 cash from Sari-Sari and P10,000 worth of gift certificates from the Philippine STAR. The 14 other Dream Girls each received P2,000 worth of gift certificates from the STAR.

Allure
editor Joanne Rae Ramirez, assistant editor Ann Montemar-Oriondo and columnists Joanne Zapanta-Andrada, Dr. Nina Halili-Jao, Jeannie Javelosa, Lexi Schulze and Jenni Epperson were presented onstage with STAR’s advertising director Lucien Dy Tioco. Jacquilou Blanco and Johnny Litton, also Allure columnists, were sorely missed.

Through Allure’s articles and columns, readers will experience how it is to fall in love again. They will also get insights on how well-known personalities handle their relationships, heartaches and triumphs.

Joining the party were Venezia’s party man Louie Ysmael; Sari-Sari’s Bamba Leelin and Joven Ayento; Ilac Diaz; STAR columnist Maurice Arcache; photobug Pepper Teehankee; PEOPLE Asia’s Philip Cu-Unjieng and his wife Patricia; actor Romel Montano; actress Carmi Martin; famed fashion designer Ito Curata; Anton Lagdameo; businessman Eduardo Roxas; MYX host and Sari-Sari’s loyal client Michi Valeriano; JM Rodriguez; Cal Carrie models Bianca Valerio and Anna Garcia, who happens to be a Sari-Sari designer; Sari-Sari head of design Ica Serafica; Jojo Silverio; Philippine STAR columnist Celine Lopez; and STAR’s Jay Sarmienta, Mike Manese, Tammy Mendoza, Mick Atienza and Igan D’ Bayani.

Yup Magazine,
F TV’s Aliah Parcs, the E Channel and Boom of MYX were also there to cover the event.

The glittery event will be the last "party hurrah" hosted by Venezia. And watch out for its exciting re-opening after a month-long renovation in July.

The event’s major sponsors were The Philippine STAR, Sari-Sari and Venezia, with special thanks to AGFA.
