Shape up!

FASHION PERSONA - FASHION PERSONA By Jenni Epperson -
Plus-size, skinny, athletic, petite or voluptuous? Which body type do you fall under? Does it really matter? It may not matter to some but it does to others. Ideally, women should feel comfortable with their figure, but in reality, a lot of women feel uncomfortable and often unhappy with their bodies. This discourages them from buying clothes, being stylish, trying new trends and to some extent, prevents them from being sociable. No way! Not in the new millennium which is all about celebrating your femininity, your style and yes, even your flaws.

Fashion now is all about staying true to yourself and what you like! Of course, if you haven’t found your own style yet or you’re a bit wary of what type of clothes will work for you, read on for some easy, almost-a-"no-brainer" guide on clothes you can get away with.

Learn from these cool and sexy women who celebrate living and loving every inch of their bodies–Bianca Araneta, Lana Asanin, Nicollette Belle, Desiree Guico and Beatrice Yulo-Gomez.

Nicollette Bell
, 32-23-34, size O (US) 5’7".

"I’m very comfortable with my body," says Nicollette. " I’ve always been thin and I don’t mind wearing stretch pants and sexy tops. In fact I don’t really try to wear clothes that will make me look curvy. I think I have a good lower body and nice shoulders. That’s more than enough for me. Of course being thin does not equate to being healthy, and for me it’s more important to be healthy than just being thin."

Bianca Araneta
, vital stats. 34-24-35 size 4 US 5’6", veejay, model Joint Show Media part-owner and founder of Little Miracles Foundation.

"I find well-defined muscles sexy on women. They look like the type who can move furniture around and still look sexy wearing a floral chiffon sundress.

"I’m blessed with good genes so my muscles get easily toned with just a few workouts. I watch what I eat, though, so I avoid oily food."

Desiree Guico
, size O (US), 5’3", vital stats: 32-24-35, Hotlegs dancer, stylist, model.

"Fight!" This is what Des first told me the minute I asked her to appear in my column. I’ve always liked her attitude; she’s a fighter, a go-getter and of course, a stylish lady. "Legs, legs and more legs is the way to go!" she says. "Mini skirts, slim pants and high heels make you look longer and sexier."

Lana Asanin
, 36-25-37, size 6 (US) 5’7", E! Philippines host, model:

"If you have it, show it! If you have a nice curvy body, you should accentuate it. It’s so womanly and sexy. I like wearing dresses for going out but am really a jeans kind of person. I’d pair it with a sexy blouse or a tight top and I love putting on accessories. I have a good collection of necklaces and bracelets."

Beatrice Yulo- Gomez
, size 16 (US) 5’3", lead singer of Blue Rats, Cast member of Rent Manila and Singapore, accessories designer, and UP student.

"Size doesn’t really change who you are. Although I do believe in creating proportion to accentuate your assets. I avoid wearing anything tight or too loose. I like clothes that feel comfortable."
