An alluring taste of remarkable legacy
The glamour, drama, and unapologetic fashion of the iconic 1980s series Dynasty came alive on the 4th Johnny Awards: Johnny at 90 runway as models showcased looks inspired by the un-forgettable style that defined the era. With part of the proceeds going to Project Pearls for the benefit of the education and well-being of Tondo, Manila children, the fashion show served as a fitting celebration of legacy and enduring style.
Held at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, the momentous event was made possible through the leadership of Johnny Awards chairman Marissa Fenton, co-chairman Roselle del Rosario-Rebano, and fashion director Raymond Villanueva.
What better way to capture the spirit of the evening than through the words of your columnist’s decades-old friend and original Dynasty girl Mayenne Carmona who said, “Johnny taught us how to appreciate good champagne and wine by hosting wine-pairing dinners for us. He was our Blake Car-rington. He was our mentor. He taught us how to enjoy life to the fullest.”
The evening then turned to glitz and glamour as the Dynasty-inspired catwalk came to life. It was a smorgasbord of diamonds and sequins punctuated by off-stage videos and chosen series clips.
Opening the show was the iconic Grace Gobing in a breathtaking glittery number joined by Mrs. Universe Pacific Philippines 2026 Scarlet Chua. On the other hand, Dr. Liza Quirolgico turned heads in an eye-catching winged number and closing the show with a bang was Cecille Bravo whose commanding boss energy perfectly embodied the powerful women made famous by the renowned series. Guests were then invited to place their bids on masterpieces by acclaimed artists Noel Bueza, David Kaufman, Art Rojas and the influential Faico, adding an exciting artistic bidding war to the celebration. Those present were treated to an array of exquisite cocktail fare prepared by one of the 2026 Johnny Awards recipients chef Jessie Sincioco and Johnlu Koa’s re-nowned restaurant Lartizan. Truly, this was a night to remember for your columnist as people closest to my heart have joined hands in paying forward kindness and generosity as well as em-phasizing that a remarkable legacy is one that leaves an imprint of hard work, dedication and selflessness.
