MANILA, Philippines — Simbang Gabi is one of the most important Christmas traditions in the Philippines. 

This nine-day series of dawn (or in recent times, anticipated the evening before) Masses is a beloved tradition that is believed to bring blessings to those who complete it. It is a time of spiritual reflection, community gathering, and a fitting preparation for the birth of Christ.

It starts on December 16 and ends of December 24.
