Build Mom her dream kitchen
There’s endless possibilities when designing your kitchen at Ikea.

One’s love for food always starts at home, and our kitchen is our mom’s turf. It’s not just a place for preparing food, but also a space where families create moments and enjoy meals together.

So, if getting a fresh, crisp apron or new pan doesn’t work for Mom anymore, why not build her dream kitchen? And for a change, whip up something fresh, delish and plant-based for the kitchen goddess. Show her you’ve been paying attention all these years as she would wash, peel, cut and toss the ingredients in one, two, or even three different pots cooking at the same time, and manage to create delicious dishes for the fam.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Ikea showcased its kitchen planning solutions at its showroom in Pasay with its in-house design team. The dynamic bunch — Daniel Rivera, Sig Balbas, Zimon Lomboy, Heirvy Nicolas, and chefs Mill Ylagan and Geo Punsang — was on hand not only to help customers customize their own kitchen but also whip up the best summer recipes.

Zimon Lomboy, IKEA Swedish Food Market, Cafe and Bistro manager, and chef Mill Ylagan, Ikea Food Kitchen manager.

Ikea Food Kitchen manager chef Mill Ylagan, assisted by chef Geo Punsang, conducted a cooking demo featuring dishes such as Kinilaw na Salmon and Veggie Ball Salad for starters; Surf & Turf and Chicken Inasal for the mains; and Swedish Waffle for dessert.

The main ingredients for the dishes were sourced from the Ikea Swedish Food Market, such as its newest products the Plant-based Fish Fingers and Scallops, plant-based balls, the frozen Swedish Waffle, and the ASC salmon at the Ikea Swedish Food Market. ASC stands for the Aqua Culture Stewardship Council, which means the salmon passed the standards of responsible farming. Yes, the salmon is not only healthy and nutritious, but also responsibly sourced.

The dishes are so easy to prepare. And with Mom by your side, you’ll be able to prepare a feast in no time.

Designed with the kitchen goddess in mind

With its mission of creating everyday life for many people, Ikea offers kitchens for every style, space and budget. It carries a wide selection of options and solutions for the kitchen of your dreams.

With Ikea, the possibilities are endless. Each kitchen can have different functions — from having smart storage solutions for mom’s cooking essentials and dinnerware, hiding and storing recycling bins, integrating appliances to support her cooking needs, and even creating more space to store everything she needs to be within reach.

“We know that the kitchen is the center of every Filipino’s home. In the kitchen, we not only cook, it’s also where we bond with family and friends, and where we make a lot of important decisions,” said Daniel Rivera, store manager, Ikea Pasay. “In Ikea, we have over 400 different (kitchen cabinet) doors and colors. This means that whatever combo you want, you have over 1,000 different combinations to choose from.”

Ikea is confident about its kitchen solutions that it gives a 25-year warranty on the Metod kitchens that covers defects in the material and workmanship, and a 10-year guarantee for the Enhet kitchen system, while the Ikea appliances have a five-year warranty.

From May 1 to June 2, Ikea offers a 10-percent rebate for Ikea Family members. That means if you purchase a minimum of P150,000 under the Metod kitchen, you’ll enjoy a 10-percent discount (through Ikea gift cards) which you can use inside the store. You can either buy a chair or a dining table to go with your Metod kitchen.

To make it even easier for customers to avail Ikea’s complete kitchen solution, 0% installment payment plans up to six months are also available for a minimum purchase of P20,000 for BDO, BPI, HSBC, Unionbank, and Metrobank credit card holders.
