Color theory and chiaroscuro are back in a big way in the beauty trend cycle: And if we’re to do it in a way that enhances our best features, nobody does it like Hermès Beauty, which has a pop-up in Podium.

Rediscover colored mascaras and more at The Podium.

Did you know that swiping some violet mascara on your lashes can make brown eyes pop?

Blue eye shadow has the same effect on darker eyes when worn close to the lash line like a graphic eyeliner. Wearing both in green brings out your pupils’ golden hues.

Art class lessons like color theory and chiaroscuro are back in a big way in the beauty trend cycle. And if we’re to do it in a way that enhances our best features, nobody does it like Hermès Beauty.

I followed the scent of lychee and ginger from the entrance of The Podium in Ortigas and it led me to the Hermès Beauty pop-up right by The Podium Christmas tree.

Yuletide fragrances typically conjure notes of pine and fir trees, but for Christmastime in the tropics, the youthful, fruity sweetness of the new Tutti Twilly d’Hermès is just one of the unexpected ways to go about gifting for the holidays or giving your beauty closet a fun, ombre addition.

There are five palettes in quartets for the Ombres d’Hermès eyeshadows: Ombres Marines is meant to evoke the ocean’s depths

Now back to the mascaras: the Trait d’Hermès revitalizing care mascara is a volumizing formula that comes in six colors. While there is Noir Fusan, the classic black for those sticking to the tried and true, why not play with light and shade with the Brun Bistre, a brown that’s more bronze and copper on the lashes? Or experiment with Rouge H, a cherry brown and burgundy (and the House’s heritage color) that cancels out the blue tones in some dark undereye circles. The bolder shades are buildable, too. There are Bleu Encre, a vibrant blue; Vert Titien, a rich green; and my favorite, Violet Indigo, which is actually more azure. Or is it cerulean? The more you swipe, it creates a chiaroscuro effect on the eyes that only makes you want to take a closer look.

The chiaroscuro effect on the limited-edition Hermès holiday lipsticks casts a natural-looking contour and lifting effect.

The chiaroscuro effect on the limited-edition lipsticks casts a natural-looking contour and lifting effect. What seems dark in the bullet swipes onto a luminous Rouge Bruni, a strong brick red with warm, velvety overtones; Rouge Abysse, an elegant burgundy with a touch of cobalt blue, a true nighttime sun; and Prunoir, a plum purple illuminated from the inside by hints of pink.

There are five palettes in quartets for the Ombres d’Hermès eyeshadows composed of a graduated trio — think contour and highlight shades — and a fourth “pop” shade. Ombres Pétales has the pinks and plums; Ombres Végétales is influenced by green foliage; Ombres Fauves is all about amber and orange; Ombres Marines is meant to evoke the ocean’s depths; and Ombres Fumées is for a modern smoky eye.

Then wrap it up in everyone’s favorite color all year round — Hermès orange — or get a customized pouch with your purchase for a personalized touch. Now, that will certainly make eyes pop.
