When it comes to setting the stage ablaze, iKON definitely knows how to deliver. It was a night filled with electrifying energy and spine-chilling vocals as iKON took the stage of Araneta Coliseum last Aug. 5 for their 2023 iKON World Tour “Take Off” in Manila. Everyone went wild and set the whole dome on fire with their Konbats.
iKON emerged on stage wearing captivating silvery clothes and opened the night with their song, Tantara from their newest album, “Take Off.”  iKONIC (iKON’s fanbase name)’s decibel level of cheers was off the charts, and their eardrum-shattering chants that could equal the sound of a jet engine were their way of welcoming iKON on stage.

Song-swooning the hearts of the crowd

The epic Tantara dance breaks had the crowd on their feet, mirroring the group’s impressive choreography. The power of unified energy was palpable, creating an electric atmosphere that enveloped the entire venue. It was as if the crowd and iKON were connected by an invisible thread, fueling each other’s excitement.
They continued to perform more of their songs, from their debut to their newest ones, which included the fan-favorite and legendary Love Scenario, the fiery Sinosijak, the iconic Rhythm Ta, and many more. Each song was performed with such passion and precision that it left the audience in awe.

But what truly stood out was the way iKON unleashed their energy. They brought a level of intensity and enthusiasm that was infectious. It was like they had an unlimited supply of energy that electrified the entire dome. And the Filo iKONICs matched iKON’s energy with their own wild cheers and screams. Except for Chanwoo, iKON also prepared solo stage performances, but he promised to prepare a solo stage for their next world tour.

“We’ve visited so many countries now, but we’re so excited to finally be here in Manila,” DK said. iKON also surprised their fans with some Filipino words and phrases, such as “Masakit akong tiyan, masakit akong ilong” Chanwoo said, which was Jinhwan’s iconic Filipino phrases, Bobby’s “Hello, maganda,” and Ju-Ne’s “Mage-enjoy ba kayo hanggang sa huli?”
iKON’s fan service was top-tier; members stepped down from the stage to be closer to their fans, capturing photos and videos using iKONIC phones. Bobby also took the fan banner signed by the fans with the Philippine flag and made it his cape. After seeing the PH iKONIC fan video, Ju-Ne promised that they would return with all six members in the future, as Jinhwan would be unable to join them on this year’s “Take Off” Tour due to his military enlistment.

As the stage lights dimmed and the crowd erupted in thunderous applause, iKON made their way back to the stage for their encore performance. Filipino iKONICs were delighted when iKON decided to perform more songs for the encore. “You are so good to party,” DK said. Everyone was singing along, waving their Konbats, jumping, and partying like there was no tomorrow. It was truly a night that iKONICs will cherish forever. The concert ended with a photo opportunity for all Royalty ticket holders, as well as a “hi-bye” session for Royalty and raffled VIP ticket holders.
