Happy new you!
The start of the year is an opportune moment to examine our life, review our dreams, evaluate our successes or failures, set our priorities and define our goals once again. It marks the end of a milestone in our life (the previous year) and the beginning of a new one. Life is a series of decisions which either leads us closer or further away from our coveted destiny. To get you moving towards the right direction, here are a few guidelines to consider:
• Happy new you! As far as you are concerned, you are the most important person in the world. You have to live the happiest, fullest, most significant life you can. Your happiness and fulfillment depend on no one but you. Endeavor to improve yourself and keep evolving to be the best that you can be. Start the year by reviving, recharging, revitalizing, reinventing and renewing yourself for a truly happy new you!
• Happy new yours! Now is the best time to make an inventory of all your possessions and belongings. Sometimes, we take along too much junk that make our life journey heavy and tiring. Edit out unnecessary things and start making room for better things to come. The same goes for friends, relationships, and emotional baggage. Know when to let go of people that you have outgrown or who somehow weigh you down.
• Happy new yearn! To yearn is to desire or feel intense longing for something. To set your sails towards your heart’s desires, define the things you truly yearn for. Maybe it is time to set your mind on something higher that’s worth striving for. Look within you; your heart knows. Let it reveal its deepest passions and desires.
• Happy new yen! The yen is the Japanese monetary unit and just for our purpose, let it represent economic prosperity. Strive for greater abundance and financial stability. Much worry and insecurity is caused by not having enough money. This year, think up schemes to fatten your wallet and strengthen your financial worth and independence.
• Happy new yard! A yard is an enclosed area, lot or space. This year, knock off the fences around you and enlarge your territory. Reach out and touch as many lives as possible. The best way to do this is to give, give, give. Life and its treasures are not ours to keep (for we leave as we came — with nothing) but ours to share and give away. As you extend your “yard,” make sure to protect and enhance the earth and its ecology, too.
• Happy new yarn! “Yarn” is the colloquial term for story. All of us have a story. What’s yours? Realize that you are writing a novel — the novel of your life. Is it sad, boring, exciting, fabulous, uplifting, inspiring? Is it worth reading at all? The new year will start another chapter. Realize that you write your own life script and even compose your own music and songs. Make your “yarn” a masterpiece.
• Happy new yield! Your yield is what you give or produce. How has your yield been so far? What harvests have you to show? In life, think results. Results are the fruit of your efforts, your labor. At the start of the year, focus on what you want to materialize this time. What dreams do you want to happen? What yield are you willing to put your best energies on?
• Happy new youth! Youth is the state of being young — fresh, buoyant, vigorous, healthy. As the years roll by, grow wiser and younger. You cannot beat time, but as your body grows older, make sure your mind gets younger. The fountain of youth has its springs in the mind and in the heart. Think young and feel young, and you will be forever young.
• Happy new yum! Yum is an expression of delight usually for delicious food. Feed the body for health, but feed your soul for grace, too. Savor life’s sweet indulgences and pleasures, and increase the “yum” factor in your existence. Don’t postpone happiness. Life is short; sometimes it pays to enjoy dessert first.
• Happy new yeah! A “yes” is an affirmation, agreement or consent. It is important to say “Yes!” to life. You must embrace it with a positive, enthusiastic heart. If you have been resisting life and the multifarious experiences it offers, now is the time to ditch your negativity. Start the year with a brand-new attitude. Shout out a big “Yes!” and live!
