Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel wears Albert Andrada in El Salvador mountain shoot
MANILA, Philippines — For her first “pasabog” pictorial leading up to the 2023 Miss Universe pageant, reigning queen R’Bonney Nola Gabriel chose a luxewear creation by Filipino designer Albert Andrada.
“Hiked all the way up to the clouds to get this shot for y’all for the 72nd Miss Universe Competition in El Salvador,”the Filipino-American titleholder shared on her Instagram.
Like a goddess gliding among the clouds, R’Bonney is wearing a multi-layered electric-pleated ruffled gown in ivory white.
It is the finale look of Andrada’s 20-piece Spring/Summer Pret-A-Porter 2023 collection he debuted during Parish Fashion Week on September 29 at the Westin Paris - Vendôme. The show was produced by Home of Fashion Week by MM Milano Agency of Chona Bacaoco.
“R’Bonney specifically requested for that gown,” said Andrada, who presented alongside his great friend Michael Cinco, whose show R’Bonney sashayed as the finale girl. “She brought it with her straight from Paris Fashion Week for a promotion shoot for Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador.”
This year’s coronation night will be on November 18, probably in the capital San Salvador. Our bet is Kapuso actress and model Michelle Marquez Dee.
Andrada famously created the evening gown that Pia Wurtzbach wore when she competed at Miss Universe 2015, on her way to the most controversial crowning in pageant history.
His latest collection has brought Philippinism to the Paris runway. Inspired by the colors of the powdery sand, water and seashells of Philippine beaches, each outfit is finely crafted to show Andrada’s aesthetics in fashion.
