Spa wisdom from The Body Shop

PENNYLANE - PENNYLANE By Rebecca C. Rodriguez -
As a bona-fide city dweller, I have always been obsessed with having spa treatments to relax. Hey, spoiling oneself on a weekly basis can be quite expensive. I realized that there is no better way to relax than to stay at home. Thankfully, now, there are home spa treatments that save you a whole lot of money. Plus, pampering yourself with do-it-yourself products makes you treat your body like a temple.

"The Body Shop Spa Wisdom range takes the top-to-toe indulgent experience out of the day spa and into the comfort and convenience of your very home," says Isabel Lopez, PR and events officer for The Body Shop. "New total body regimes melt away stress and strains with products inspired by centuries of spa secrets, made from exotic ingredients gathered from all over the world."

The thing I really love about The Body Shop is that the company has a social responsibility to help others, protect the environment, respect human rights and, of course, be against animal testing. You get reasonably priced items for quality products. The brand does not need endorsers because the products speak for themselves.

Just like Spa Wisdom. The Body Shop developed four key regimes for daily and weekly home-pampering sessions. It will do wonders for your mind, body, and soul. So now, it is time to transform your bathroom into a tranquil retreat. Just remember to use Spa Wisdom Dreams home fragrance oil before each step to give your room a serious aroma makeover.
Total Body Renewal
Start the quest to be a contemplative person with this regime that will detoxify and deeply cleanse the body. Massage the Blissful Body Cleanser onto damp skin. Ingredients include bamboo, coconut milk, and beeswax from Zambia that moisturizes the skin. Exfoliate with the Africa Spa salt scrub with shea butter from Ghana to improve skin texture and increase blood circulation. Apply a thick layer of Purify Me Body Mask and leave on for three minutes. It contains essential oils and white China clay to absorb impurities for a detoxifying effect. Moisturize the skin with On A High Hydrating Puree. I actually love this body gel because it is like lotion and it smells nice. It contains rosehip oil (which protects the skin from future damage), andiroba oil (nourishes the skin), babassu oil (smoothes the skin), and aloe vera gel (refreshes and heals the skin).
Taste Of Tranquility
If you want a floral sanctuary for the senses with smooth and velvety textures, indulge in this dream regime. Apply the sweetly scented Monoi Miracle Oil to the hair and massage into the head and neck. It contains the Monoi de Tahiti oil, babassu oil, and beeswax to pamper the skin and hair, with its great floral scent like sampaguita. Shampoo and rinse off afterwards. Then, apply the Africa Spa Salt Scrub to make the skin smooth. If you have a tub, use the Dreamboat Milk Bath to soak the fatigue away with ingredients like frangipani and lotus flower milk. Top it off with the Africa Spa Honey Butter on the hands and feet. It contains Community Trade shea butter and organic honey to lock in moisture. Tip: I applied this on the soles of my feet and wore socks before sleeping. When I woke up, my feet were super soft.
Sheer Bliss
Slip inside your mind’s eye and unwind with a sensual blend of exotic ingredients and aromas. Start massaging your hair, neck, and even sore shoulders with the Monoi Miracle Oil. Since my hair is extremely dry and damaged because of all the chemicals, I put an ample amount of this oil on my hair and used a shower cap while sleeping. In the morning, I shampooed my hair and it was so deeply nourished.

Trivia: Cleopatra was into milk baths to make her skin soft. If you want to discover her beauty secret, do it with the Dreamboat Milk Bath. Don’t forget to pamper the body with the Rich Body Balm. It contains Community Trade cocoa butter, shea butter and sesame oil to melt into the skin immediately, and repair and replenish dry areas. Focus on dry and rough spots like elbows, knees, and ankles.
Exotic Oasis
For those who are constantly on the go, massage the Blissful Body Cleanser on the skin. Use it with The Body Shop’s bath glove to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. The Community Trade organic beeswax from Zambia will condition and moisturize the skin. Then, lightly apply pressure to the skin and massage On A High Hydrating Puree all over the body. This will definitely uplift your ever-changing moods to boost your energy levels in a jiffy.

You don’t have to spend much time or money to pamper yourself. You can have this soft-skin sanctuary in the comforts of your very own home.
