Sharon Cuneta, daughter Frankie attend Sara Duterte impeachment trial
MANILA, Philippines — Megastar Sharon Cuneta and her daughter, Frankie Pangilinan, attended the continuation of the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte at the Senate on Monday, October 12.
The actress-singer and Frankie, also known as Kakie, watched the 38th day of the trial from the Senate gallery, where Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Sharon's husband, served as one of the senator-judges.
The proceedings focused on Article II of the impeachment complaint, which involves allegations of betrayal of public trust and unexplained wealth against Duterte.
After interpellating the prosecution's final witness, forensic expert Alexander Cabrera, Kiko turned toward Sharon, who responded with a smile.
The senator later shared a video of the moment on social media, featuring the song “Na Para Bang” by Maria Deborah.
The song includes the lyrics, “Sabi ko sarili ko wala lang ’to, pero ba’t sa’yo na’ng aking Sabado.”
“Pati Lunes, sa’yong sa ’yo. Salamat sa dagdag inspirasyon, sweetheart,” Kiko wrote in the caption.
The post captured a brief exchange between the couple as the impeachment proceedings continued.
