Singapore's early childhood education expands to the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Kinderland International Education, an award-winning early childhood education provider with more than 130 centers across the Asia-Pacific region, has officially entered the Philippine market through a strategic partnership with Gingerbread House of Learning in San Juan.
As part of the collaboration, the established Filipino preschool has been rebranded as Kinderland Preschool, bringing Kinderland's internationally recognized approach to early childhood education to local families.
To mark the milestone, Kinderland Preschool hosted an Open House on May 30, giving parents and children an opportunity to experience the school's learning environment and gain insights into Kinderland's signature music-infused curriculum.
The event attracted strong interest from families eager to learn more about the school's educational philosophy and programs. Guests enjoyed guided campus tours, met members of the teaching team, and participated in interactive activities designed to showcase key elements of the Kinderland curriculum.
“The Philippines presents a compelling opportunity for Kinderland's expansion, driven by growing demand among local families for high-quality, globally benchmarked early childhood education,” said Seet Lee Kiang, general manager of Kinderland's International Education.
“Our strategic partnership with Gingerbread House of Learning is built on a strong alignment of values and a shared commitment to nurturing confident, well-rounded young learners. With nearly 50 years of experience in delivering quality education, Kinderland remains dedicated to supporting children's growth and development across the region.”
Founded in Singapore in 1978, Kinderland is known for its holistic and trilingual approach to learning, combining academic excellence with creativity, character development, inquiry-based learning, and music education.
At the heart of its educational philosophy is a research-backed, proprietary music-infused curriculum that integrates music into everyday learning experiences. This approach is designed to support language and cognitive development, emotional expression, confidence-building, and social skills among young learners.
Children enrolled in Kinderland participate in a wide range of enriching activities, including storytelling, coding, technology-assisted literacy programs, inquiry-based STEM education, creative arts, collaborative projects, phonics through music and musical exploration using percussion instruments.
The curriculum also provides trilingual exposure in English, Mandarin and Filipino, helping children develop the communication skills needed for an increasingly interconnected world while remaining rooted in local culture and identity.
Complementing the curriculum is Kinderland's strong focus on teacher development. Educators in the Philippines undergo structured training and continuous professional development led by specialists from Kinderland's Singapore headquarters, ensuring consistency in teaching standards and curriculum delivery.
According to Grace Iriberri, Directress of Kinderland Preschool San Juan, the partnership combines local expertise with internationally recognized educational practices.
“By building on the strong foundation established by Gingerbread House of Learning, we are able to offer families the best of both worlds — a familiar and trusted learning environment enhanced by Kinderland's music-infused curriculum and educational expertise,” she said.
“Our mission is to nurture confident, joyful, and future-ready children through a holistic Singapore-inspired education enriched by music and meaningful learning experiences.”
The launch of Kinderland Preschool in San Juan marks an important step in the institution's regional expansion and reflects its continued commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education to families across Asia.
