PH’s Asia Rose Simpson advances to Miss World 2026 Top 40

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine bet Asia Rose Simpson secured a spot in the Top 40 of Miss World 2026 after displaying her eloquence at the head-to-head challenge.
Asia was up against her fellow candidates from the Asia and Oceania region in the challenge that tests their thinking and speaking skills.
Her question was: “Asia and Oceania include some of the world's oldest traditions and some of its fastest changing societies. How can a new generation embrace progress without losing what makes its culture unique?”
The youngest Miss World Philippines candidate at 18 impressed the panel with her answer that tied the Filipino values of “Kapwa” and “Bayanihan.”
The beauty queen who is Filipino on her father’s side showed wisdom beyond her teenage years.
“There is a quote that goes something like, a people who do not know their history, origin, or culture is like a tree without roots. Our cultural heritage is one of the main frameworks that make us who we are. The traditions that we hold, the food that we eat, or the people that we're around. It's what makes home feel like home,” said the Filipino-American beauty queen.
Before representing the Philippines, Asia joined the Miss New Mexico Teen USA in 2023 and later competed and won Miss Congeniality at the Miss Teen USA 2023.
“And the best way to preserve our cultural heritage is to simply pass it down to the next generation. Growing up in the Philippines, I saw firsthand the Filipino culture of ‘Kapwa,’ which simply put means interconnectedness, like a string that binds us all together. Whether that was the simple things like sharing food off of the same plate, or the ‘Bayanihan’ spirit of neighbor helping neighbor after a typhoon struck,” said the beauty queen who lived in Capiz, Manila and Quezon City.
The latter city she represented at this year’s Miss World Philippines tilt.
“It was the simple things like this that shaped me into who I am, and in the future will shape who my children are. And though we have many avenues of promoting our culture, social media, pageantry, our spheres of influence, it will be the simple things that save us. Speaking our native language at the house, sharing stories of old to our children and our grandchildren, or cooking recipes from our grandparents.
“In a fast-paced modernized digital world, things like ‘Kapwa’ or the ‘Bayanihan’ spirit will not be lost. In fact, they will be the things that ground us fully, because that is what roots are for. And every generation learns from the last and the next,” Asia ended.
Her winning answer in the tough question-and-answer round made her advance to the pageant’s Top 40.
This year’s format begins with the Top 40 entrants from Africa, Europe, Americas and Caribbean, and Asia and Oceania. Successful candidates in this round will move on to the Top 20, which will consist of automatic qualifiers from mini-challenges, such as the beauty with a purpose, multimedia winner, head-to-head winner and top model, and from the judges’ selection of 15 contestants.
The Top 12 will consists of the Top 2 from each continent and two winners each from the Beauty with a Purpose and People’s Choice categories. This list will be trimmed to the Top 6 until the final results of the Miss World winner and her two runners-up.
The Miss World 2026 coronation night will be held in Vietnam on September 5.
