Europe Day celebrates strong EU–Philippines partnership

The Delegation of the European Union celebrated Europe Day on May 12, 2026, at Ayala Museum, bringing together diplomats, government officials, business leaders, academics, media representatives and members of civil society to commemorate the founding of the European Union and its enduring partnership with the Philippines. The event highlighted strong people-to-people ties and growing cooperation between the EU and the Philippines across a range of shared priorities.
In his welcome remarks, EU Ambassador Massimo Santoro reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to working closely with the Philippines on trade, security, sustainable development, and regional stability. The evening concluded with a ceremonial toast led by Ambassador Santoro, joined by the Apostolic Nuncio and Undersecretary Eduardo Jose De Vega, celebrating the friendship between the European Union and the Philippines and expressing optimism for the future of the relationship.
