Gamot sa cancer, diabetes wala ng VAT – FDA
MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ng Drug Administration (FDA) nitong Biyernes na idinagdag sa listahan ng wala ng value added tax (VAT) ang ilang gamot para sa cancer at diabetes, matapos payagan ang hiling ng mga kumpanya.
Sinabi ni FDA spokesperson Atty. Pamela Sevilla na ang karagdagang VAT-exempt list medicines ay nadesisyunan ng mga kinatawan ng DFA, Department of Health (DOH), Department of Finance (DoF), at ng Bureau of Internal Revenue(BIR).
Kinabibilangan ito ng Diabetes Medicine na Sitagliptin: Film-coated tablet (25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg); Sitagliptin (as hydrochloride) + Metformin Hydrochloride: Film-coated tablet (50 mg/1 g, 50 mg/850 mg); Sitagliptin (as hydrochloride monohydrate): Film-coated tablet (25 mg, 50 mg); Linagliptin: Film-coated tablet (5 mg).
Gayundin ang Cancer Medicines na Degarelix: Freeze-dried powder for solution for injection (80 mg and 120 mg); Tremelimumab: Concentrate for solution for infusion (25 mg/1.25 mL, 20 mg/mL)
Kabilang din sa VAT exempt list ang mga gamot sa Mental Illness na Clomipramine Hydrochloride: Film-coated tablet (25 mg); Chlorpromazine (as hydrochloride): Tablet (200 mg); Midazolam: Film-coated tablet (15 mg.)
Noong Agosto, inanunsyo na ng FDA ang VAT-exempt na may 15 cancer, high cholesterol, hypertension, at mental illness medicines.
Ayon sa FDA, matutunghayan sa kanilang website ang mga gamot na VAT-exempt.
