Lusting for color?

- Kat Sebastian -

MANILA, Philippines - Colored hair gives a person more appeal and vibrancy. For both men and women, having highlights or a totally new hair color shows their fun and adventurous side.

But even after years of having various hair coloring products out in the market, there are still those who are hesitant to try out anything. For some, the dyeing process entails the strong chemical smell, stinging feeling on the scalp and post procedure threats of damaged and dry hair. For the fickle minded, there’s always the after thought of picking the wrong color.

Thankfully, launched last month is a line of demi permanent hair dye, Kolours Luster, designed and tested on Asian hair. For those who seem to be stuck with playing it safe with their natural hair color, this product just might offer a new perspective on hair dye.

There is no need to worry about harsh chemicals anymore. Luster uses ethanolamine instead of ammonia, making it milder than other hair dyes. In fact, you can color all you want, whenever you want, even on previously colored or treated hair. Luster is not harsh on the scalp and also doesn’t have a strong smell. It just gives the hair enough lift for the new color, without the risks of damage and dryness.

Another plus is that Luster is a demi-permanent hair dye, meaning it only lasts for six to eight weeks, unlike permanent hair dye color, which lasts for three months. So if you’re hesitating because you might regret the color that you chose, don’t fret! Luster will gradually fade and blend with your natural hair in two months or less with no unwanted visible roots.

Headzone recently partnered with Luster for the launch as it lets bloggers experience the wonders of the new product. According to Sol Salao, managing director of Headzone, “With my clients, the number one hindrance for hair coloring is fear of damage. And because Luster uses ethanolamine instead of ammonia, it is milder for the hair.” Salao also supports Luster because it’s a Filipino product that is of high quality, at a friendly price.

Azrael Coladilla, a blogger who experienced his first hair coloring at Headzone, said, “I just wanted to try out something new and I’m very confident with Luster because it comes from a trusted brand.” Coladilla also noted that he was expecting to feel some sort of itch and strong odor from the product, but he experienced none of those and had a pleasant experience at Headzone.

Maan Tolentino, another blogger who also tried Luster, said, “As a wellness advocate, I’m all for it because I know that with this product, less toxins go to my body.”  She also mentioned that she likes the color and shine even after a couple of washes. Rowena Lei, also a blogger, said, “I was surprised at how bright the color is, considering that there’s no ammonia.”

For men and women who are interested in hair coloring but are hesitant because of the risks, finally, here’s exactly what you need! With Luster, there is nothing to be afraid of because of its mild ingredients while still keeping the vibrancy and color intact.
