Untangling a mystery

- Karlin R. Lareza -

MANILA, Philippines - The mystery shampoo that has tickled the interests and rescued and revived numerous tresses has revealed itself recently at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.

The mystery shampoo revealed itself to be the new Pantene. The most trusted name to take care of tresses has launched its new and improved hair care line.

It was at this very special and much awaited gala launch event that this globally trusted billion-dollar shampoo brand revealed how it fulfills its promise through a breakthrough new formulation and revealed the transformation experiences of celebrity challengers who were curious enough to take the 14-day challenge.

In an all-star campaign, the new Pantene made its presence known through a 14-day challenge. Personalities, celebrities, radio hosts, prominent bloggers, tweeters and curious women took the tress test and committed themselves to using this mysterious yet promising product. Many have attested that they experienced an amazing hair transformation even before the 14 days were over.

During the launch, Pantene’s three beautiful ambassadors were introduced. TV personalities Angel Aquino and Claudine Barretto, both of whom were part of Pantene’s most beautiful women in the past, were joined by a new ambassador, Carla Abellana.

Other wonderful women graced the stage, radiant with silky smooth hair that shone like their personalities — rising telenovela stars Empress Schuck, Andi Eigenmann and Erich Gonzalez, DJ Andi Manzano, TV host and personality Cesca Litton and STAR columnist Ana Kalaw.

“Through its Recharging Pro-V fluid, the new Pantene is making a wonderful promise to women — make a 14-day commitment to try it and you’ll witness an amazing transformation in your hair. When you’re committed to your hair, we’re committed to help solve its tough problems,” said Pantene country marketing manager Maimai Madrid-Punzalan.

Tough tresses

For every woman, a good day starts with a good hair day. In one study it was said that women who were having a good hair day were said to have the confidence to make the day a great day.

Trusted by women and celebrities alike for decades, Pantene has launched an all-improved range of products that helps address tough hair issues. The new Pantene range consists of three different boutiques — Total Care, Hair Fall Control and Glossy Shine — with complete hair care regimen products to address the tough hair issues of split ends, hair fall and dull, lifeless hair.

“Pantene’s new lineup of shampoos, conditioners and intensive treatments for split ends, hair fall and dull, lifeless hair is formulated with the powerful Pantene Recharging Fluid Pro-V Formula. Exclusive to Pantene, this unique formulation containing Pro-Vitamin B5 is the secret to Pantene’s super strengthening shine enhancing properties,” said Isabel Falco, Pantene marketing manager.

Commitment to change

Angel Aquino, who has also endorsed Pantene in the past, is excited about the all-new Pantene Total Care. “My biggest hair problem is split ends so I would just have to cut it off,” shared Angel. “Then I tried all-new Pantene and wala na ang split ends ko.”

Claudine Barretto, who was named one of Pantene’s Most Beautiful Women in 2008, said, “Usually, hair fall happens when you subject your hair to activities like blow-drying, styling or coloring. All these things can really damage and weaken your hair cuticles.” She took the 14-day challenge with the new Pantene Hair Fall Control Shampoo and Conditioner. On the seventh day, she noticed that she had less hairfall in the shower.

Carla Abellana, the newest Pantene ambassador, actually calls this event a milestone in her life. “This endorsement is a blessing for me but I was so nervous before the pictorial. At that time, my hair was so unruly, very unmanageable. I didn’t believe that my hair was ready for such a big milestone.” It didn’t take 14 days for her to see the results — she already started noticing results in less than a week!

Where beauty begins

All women want to be beautiful and all women want to buy into promises to be more beautiful and to have better lives. The new Pantene proves that everyday miracles do exist.

“We wanted people to experience this transformation firsthand, which is why our call for the launch was ‘You try. You decide.’ We’re very happy that so many women took up the challenge and made the commitment even though they did not know what the brand was; and we’re even happier hearing about the transformation they all saw in their hair!” said Madrid-Punzalan.

The miracle doesn’t end after the 14 days; it’s just the beginning. You try. You decide.
