Do the "do" Do the wave

BEAUTY'S SECRETS - BEAUTY'S SECRETS By Chechel Joson -
What do these trend- setting Hollywood celebrities like Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Hilary Swank, Jessica Alba, Charlize Theron, Naomi Watts, Reese Whiterspoon, Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, Uma Thurman and Salma Hayek have in common? They all sported various kinds of beautiful "waves" in the Oscars. They had big waves, wavy up-styles, romantic waves, etc. Not only do they prefer this type of hairstyle in important functions like the Oscars but you’d also see them very casually having this look in shots where the paparazzi catch them off-guard coming out from a coffee shop or smooching with their boyfriends as their everyday hairstyle. Why? Simply because it is easy to manage. It’s a matter of convenience, less time doing your hair and making you look as good and as effortlessly sexy at the same time.

Even mythology seem to have embraced goddesses who have long wavy hair. This is in fact the epitome of how a goddess should look – Venus like. This is what majority of women want to look like – a simple yet enigmatic beauty. Their key look, simple and beautiful makeup with long wavy hair. Don’t we all wish we can look like this? Guess what, now we can.

I know most women would say that after coming out from the salon you wouldn’t know how to manage your hair. Simple do’s and don’ts that you’ll have to keep in mind. I had curls for four years and this is how I managed my waves. It’s really very simple. Don’t use a formula that will leave your hair looking wet the whole day even when your hair is already dry (trust me when I say, it’s not a sight to behold). Don’t comb your curls/waves when your hair is already dry. When applying products, don’t apply them in a manner that your hair will be stretched. Don’t rub waves (rubbing will cause the waves to frizz). Do use a leave-on conditioner and/or mousse to be applied while hair is wet before you dry it. Always "scrunch"’ when applying products. Do use a comb with big bristles while hair is still wet. Flip your head entirely over when combing your hair and/or when drying to create "body." When drying your hair, bunch the hair in handfuls and crunch the hair and direct the blower to your hand. When crunching your waves, do it very lightly without rubbing it to avoid frizz. After you’re done, flip your hair back up and Voila! Super sexy effortless wavy hair!

Get the Wave:

• Shampoo and condition hair. Use formulation for dry or permed hair.

• Apply leave-on conditioner or hair repair serum.

• Lightly apply mousse.

• Bunch handful of hair in hands and direct blower to hands.

• Lightly crunch hair.

• Flip hair back.

• Shake head from side to side to set hair in its place – do not comb!

Waves add subtle character; it’s that hint of sexiness and mystery at the same time that makes you want to stare. It’s that I-just-got-of-bed look that makes it so enigmatic to a woman. Imagine yourself waking up with nice big waves, a toussled look that is effortless and undoubtedly sexy... What sane man wouldn’t want to wake up next to a goddess...
