I received a book, The Little Book of Friendship, from a friend and I have shared its contents with my other friends as well.
Here are some of the passages that have warmed my heart. These have made me realize again how precious my friends are to me.
The best mirror is an old friend. (George Herbert)
Much of the vitality in a friendship lies in the honoring of differences, not simply in the enjoyment of similarities. (James Frederick)
True friendship is seen through the heart, not through the eyes. (Unknown)
A true friend stabs you in the front. (Oscar Wilde)
We always thought wed look back on our tears and laugh, but we never thought wed look back on our laughter and cry. (Unknown)
The most beautiful discovery that true friends can make is that they can grow separately without growing apart. (Elizabeth Foley)
Friendship is the only cement that will hold the world together. (Woodrow Wilson)
We are not here to see through one another but to see one another through. (Unknown)
A friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway. (Unknown)
A friend is a gift you give yourself. (Robert Louis Stevenson)
If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldnt jump with them. Id be at the bottom to catch them. (Unknown)
It is not so much our friends help that helps us as the confident knowledge that they will help us. (Epicurus)
When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves. (William Arthur Ward)
A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
A faithful friend is the medicine of life. (Ecclesias Ticus 6:16)
Honor your friends. Value your friendships. Having a friend is a true blessing.
