More on the budget

The Philippine Star

Much has been said and written about the 2025 national budget, but none of the relevant questions have been answered.

On that controversial AKAP program, authorities (especially from the DSWD) are bending over backwards to insist that there will be no politics involved in its disbursement. But reports say the P26 billion allocated for it was supposedly divided into P21 billion for the House of Representatives and P5 billion for the Senate. If this isn’t politics, what is?

And to avoid violating the Constitution, the allocation of education was increased, not by giving the sector more funds, but by adding to it the budgets of institutions like the PMA and PNPA when, in the past, the budgets for these institutions were logged under the departments to which they belong – the DND for the PMA, the DILG for the PNPA, and so on. Then we have idiot talking heads insisting that these are considered educational institutions so their budgets should be put under the education sector.

International assessments have shown that our students are lagging behind in everything from math to comprehension to critical thinking, so we must really be a stupid people, such that our government officials think we will buy into and agree hook, line and sinker with the “magic” they have done with our budget.
