Robi, emosyonal nang pumirma ng kontrata!
Two weeks nang unang i-post ni Robi Domingo anTwo weeks nung unang i-post ni Robi Domingo ang fiancee na si Maiqui Pineda nasa hospital bed at nilagyan niya ng caption na “These past few weeks have been difficult to say the least... but I’ll be here for you, with you.”
Walang binanggit si Robi sa nasabing post kung anong nangyari sa magiging misis niya.
Pero mismong si Maiqui na ang umamin at nagpaliwanag ng kanyang karamdaman sa isang vlog.

Akala raw niya ay simpleng dryness lang at pananakit ng katawan pero isang rare autoimmune disease pala na Dermatomyositis.
Inatake ng sakit na ito ang kanyang healthy cells ng kanyang organs. At wala raw itong long term cure pero puwedeng magamot. “On July 14, 2023, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Dermatomyositis (with Anti-MDA5 antibodies) after almost three months of doing all kinds of medical tests, scans and even a heart, pulmonary and muscle exam. It sounds very technical but to explain it in simpler terms:
“Dermatomyositis is a rare autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness, inflammation, and a skin rash.
“My immune system is basically attacking the healthy cells of my organs and tissues by mistake. However, with the Anti-MDA5 antibodies, I also have a high risk of developing Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), which causes scarring in the lungs. The cause of an autoimmune disease is unknown but genes may play a part and it can also be triggered by a virus, environmental factors and stress. Sadly, there is no long-term cure for autoimmune diseases but they can be managed and treated,” unang bahagi ng kanyang Hi, it’s Maiqui blog!
Ang naging mahirap aniya ay ang mahabang paghihintay bago lumabas ang diagnosis.
Tatlong linggo raw bago lumabas dahil kailangan nilang ipadala ito sa ibang bansa para makuha ang mga resulta.
Pero dahil mayroon na raw mga sintomas, binigyan siya ng mga doktor sa mga oral steroid upang labanan ang sakit. Malaki umano ang naitulong nito.
Bago ang mga steroid, may mga araw raw na hindi makabangon sa kama dahil sa paninigas, sakit at pagod. “BUT, I am hopeful. I know this is only temporary. It will be one of the hardest things I will ever have to do but I will work on it one day at a time. I am at my most vulnerable now but I will come out of this stronger and better than ever.”
Isa ring rare autoimmune disease ang pinagdaraanang sakit ni Kris Aquino na ilang taon na ring nagpapagamot sa Amerika.
Ikakasal sana sina Robi at Maiqui this year.
Samantala, naging madamdamin si Robi sa muli niyang pagpirma ng kontrata sa ABS-CBN.
“My heart is just filled with gratitude. I have regarded this place to be my home and it will continue to be my home. I am with family. I am and will be a Kapamilya forever,” ani Robi.
“It’s really a badge of honor when people say you are a Kapamilya kasi ang daming responsibilidad and commitment na kasama nun. But whenever I wear that badge of honor I feel proud to say that I will be in the service of the Filipino worldwide,” dagdag niya.
Pagkatapos niyang pumirma ng kontrata, inilahad naman ni Robi ang kanyang dream project.
Sabi niya, “I want to host a game show about knowledge naman. I think it’s high time for us the Philippines to bring back the golden age of game shows kung saan people would be rewarded because they know stuff.”
Nagwagi bilang 2nd Big Placer si Robi sa Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus taong 2008 at simula noon, nakilala na siya bilang isa sa pinakamagagaling na hosts sa bansa.
