Motorbike-riding gunman attacks Antipolo City mayor’s supporter
MANILA, Philippines - A supporter of Antipolo City Mayor Nilo Leyble was shot and seriously wounded by a motorcycle-riding attacker last Thursday, police said.
Police are now hunting down a certain Bong, tagged by witnesses as the one shot Angelito San Pablo, 62, who is in critical condition.
San Pablo reportedly spoke in a protest rally at Sumulong Park condemning alleged vote buying in the May 13 polls.
Leyble lost by a slim margin to Rizal Gov. Casimiro Ynares III.
After speaking in the rally, San Pablo went home to get some rest. He was walking back to Sumulong Park when the gunman approached him and opened fire at close range.
Police said the attacker casually left the crime scene, and left behind his motorcycle with license plate OR 2147.
