PCSO eyes Level 3 gaming certification

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is eyeing a Level 3 certification for responsible gaming by May.
Under the Responsible Gaming Framework of the World Lottery Association, a Level 3 certification signifies that a lottery group has developed a plan, timetable and budget to implement gaming programs.
On Jan. 28, the PCSO held a meeting with its private and public sector partners.
Stakeholders were urged to incorporate responsible gaming principles into advertising and game development to better protect vulnerable groups.
Social benefits of responsible gaming were emphasized at the meeting, linking PCSO programs to health care, education and charitable activities.
In September 2024, PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles was elected by regional counterparts to join the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Lottery Association.
Robles became the first Filipino to sit on the governing committee of the association.
