Pagpatay sa 2 Bayan Muna leader, kinondena

Mariing kinondena kahapon ni Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno ang naganap na pamamaslang sa dalawang opisyal ng militanteng grupong Bayan Muna na nakabase sa Cagayan Valley.

Kaugnay nito, inatasan ni Puno si Philippine National Police Chief Director General Arturo Lomibao na bumuo ng isang task force na pamumunuan ni PNP Deputy Chief for Operations Director General Avelino Razon Jr., kasama ng mga opisyal ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at ng Intelligence Group (IG) bilang mga miyembro ng task force.

"I have ordered the task force to immediately get to the bottom of these murders and secure the witnesses who are willing to testify on these killings to guarantee their protection," pahayag ni Puno.

Umaasa naman si Puno na sa pamamagitan ng task force ay mabilis ng mabibigyan ng hustisya ang naganap na pamamaslang sa dalawang opisyal ng Bayan Muna sa Isabela.

"Anyone who has information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators of these murders should come forward so that we can bring to justice those who are responsible for these heinous crimes" We cannot progress with our investigation without solid leads and evidence and we cannot proceed based on unsubstantiated allegations", dagdag pa ni Puno.

Noong Miyerkules ng gabi nang paslangin ng hindi pa kilalang mga suspek sina Elena Mendiola, Bayan Muna-Cagayan Valley secretary general at partner nitong si Ricardo Balauag sa Barangay Garit Sur sa Isabela.

Una rito, isang miyembro naman ng leftist organization ay napaslang din sa Misamis Occidental at may napaulat ding nawawala.

Sa talaan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) mula taong 2001, 83 Partylist members na ang naiulat na pinaslang at 58 dito ay mula sa Bayan Muna, 23 sa Anakpawis at dalawa sa Gabriela. (Angie dela Cruz)
