Impeachment vs VP Sara inilarga na sa Kamara
MANILA, Philippines — Sinampahan na ng impeachment complaint nitong Lunes ng hapon sa Kamara si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Inihain ang reklamo sa tanggapan ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco ng civil society organizations, religious leaders, sectoral representatives at pamilya ng mga biktima ng extra judicial killings sa madugong drug war ng nakalipas na administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte. Inendorso naman ito ni Akbayan Partylist Rep. Perci Cendaña.
“Today I formally endorse the first ever and historic impeachment complaint filed by our citizens against Vice President Sara Duterte. This moment marks a critical juncture in our nation’s demand for accountability,” pahayag ni Cendaña.
“Panahon na para isara ng taumbayan ang bangungot na dulot ni Sara. Vice President Duterte deserves to be impeached for her abuse of power and plunder of the nation’s coffers. The Filipino people deserve a Vice President who is ethical, accountable and committed to public service -not the one who weaponizes authority for personal gain,” giit pa ng solon.
Kabilang naman sa mga naghain ng impeachment ay sina Teresita Quintos Deles, Fr. Flaviano Villanueva, Fr. Robert Reyes, Randy Delos Santos (tiyuhin ng biktima ng Tokhang na si Kian Delos Santos), Francis Aquino Dee, Leah Navarro, Sylvia Estrada Claudio, Alicia Murphy, Sr. Mary Grace De Guzman, dating Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano at iba pa.
Ang mga ito ay sinamahan ni Mamamayang Liberal Partylist First nominee at dating senador Leila de Lima na nagsilbing spokesperson ng grupo.
Tinukoy ng grupo ang mga grounds for impeachment laban kay VP Sara na culpable violations of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust at iba pang uri ng krimen.
Sa rekord, simula 1986 EDSA Revolution ay apat na opisyal pa lamang ang na-impeach sa Kamara kabilang sina dating Pangulong Joseph Estrada, dating Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, dating Supreme Court chief justice Renato Corona at dating Commission on Elections chairperson Andres Bautista.
