Darchinyan babawian si Donaire

MANILA, Philippines - Sinasabi ni Vic ‘The Ra­ging Bull’ Darchinyan ng Armenia na siya ang nagpasikat kay Noni­to ‘The Filipino Flash’ Do­naire, Jr.

At siya rin ang tuluyan nang sisira sa dating unified world super bantamweight champion.

“Since years ago, I lost to Nonito Donaire. No one knew about him at that time. I made Do­naire, and I will break him. You will see,” wika ni Darchinyan sa kanilang press conference kahapon sa The American Bank Cen­ter sa Corpus Christi, Te­xas.

Muling maglalaban ang 30-anyos na si Do­naire at ang 37-anyos na si Dar­chinyan sa isang non-title featherweight fight sa Nob­yembre 9 sa naturang ve­nue.

Pinatulog ni Donaire si Darchinyan sa fifth round para agawin sa huli ang mga bitbit nitong International Boxing Federation at International Boxing Or­ganization flyweight belts noong Hulyo ng 2007.

At matapos ito ay sunud-sunod na panalo ang ipi­noste ng tubong Talibon, Bohol na si Donaire.

Ayon kay Darchinyan, ito na ang pagkakataong matagal na niyang hi­ni­hintay para makaganti kay Do­naire.

“This is a very impor­tant fight for me. It gives me the opportunity to face and defeat an oppo­nent who beat me in the past. This win will be sweet re­venge for me,” wika ni Dar­chinyan (39-5-1, 28 KOs).

Inaasahan din ni Do­naire (31-2-0, 20 KOs) na mas magiging palaban ang Armenian fighter sa ka­nilang rematch.

“Just this fight alone, there’s already a lot of tension, as you know. ‘I will make him, I’ll break him?’ That’s from Darchinyan,” ani Donaire. “I expected as much from Darchinyan. I thought that age would subside a little bit of his issues, but appa­rently not, which is why I say that this fight is going to be an incredible fight.”

“I’ve taken everything away from him. Everything that he has worked for all of his life,” dagdag pa nito.

Ito ang unang laban ni Do­naire sa featherweight di­­vision matapos maghari sa flyweight, bantamweight at super bantamweight classes.

Magka­kasunod na bi­nigo ni Donaire sina Wil­fre­do, Vasquez, Jr., Jeffrey Mathebula, Toshiaki Ni­shioka at Jorge Arce.

Sa naturang taon ay hi­nirang siya bilang 2012 Bo­­xer of the Year.

Noong Abril 13 nitong taon ay isang unanimous decision loss ang na­­tikman ni Donaire kay Guil­lermo Ri­gondeaux ng Cuba sa kanilang uni­fi­cation super bantamweight fight noong Abril 13 sa New York City.
