The ordinance does not mention the word ‘holiday’ at all. Therefore, students and employees in the entire city of Manila are still required to attend school and work on this day. Carlos Yulo Day is simply a day of commemoration. So, while it is a regular day, there will be activities to honor the pride that Caloy has brought to our country, with the hope of inspiring our citizens to excel in their respective fields,” paliwanag ni Councilor Philip Lacuna.

“Among the best we can do to express our gratitude is to honor Caloy, push for more support for student-athletes and community athletes, and respect his right to privacy,” dagdag pa ng alkalde.
