Delivery van rams house; 1 dead, 4 hurt

MANILA, Philippines — A driver of a delivery van died while four other people were injured when the vehicle rammed a house by the roadside in Barangay Ibabang Kalilayan in Unisan, Quezon yesterday.

The fatality, who was identified only as Mamerto, 45, died at the scene.

Initial investigation showed the driver lost control of the wheel when the brake malfunctioned.

Among those injured was the owner of the house struck by the vehicle. They were taken to the Quezon Provincial Hospital Network-Unisan for treatment.

An investigation is ongoing.
