Transport chief Jaime Bautista says that the SCRP, also known as the Alabang-Calamba leg of the mammoth North-South Commuter Railway System, is an elevated, double track and electrified train system that will be constructed along PNR's existing route from Alabang to Calamba.
The project is worth P73.25 billion co-financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Asian Development Bank.
