MANILA, Philippines — Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo and Ziva David are arguably one of TV’s most popular ship or pairing, and it is not a surprise that they get to have their own series focused on them as parents while chasing the bad guys in “NCIS: Tony and Ziva.”

Michael Weatherly and Cote D’Pablo reprise their beloved roles as the sassy and bickering agents of NCIS, Tony and Ziva. While they have left the main show, “NCIS,” for quite some time, Michael and Cote are back as Tony and Ziva due to insistent popular demand, especially with the cliffhanger surprise in Season 16 in 2019.

Over 10 years since they bickered yet exuded chemistry as the favorite NCIS agents, Michael and Cote’s chemistry has not faded. The TV couple showed how they embody their roles in an interview with Philstar.com regarding their spin-off show.

Michael remarked how they “wonderfully manifested” a show about Ziva and Tony as they rejoin the “NCIS” universe.

Cote noted how they created an “international world,” where she and Michael could still have more adventures, and it shows in the first few episodes of the spin-off show, where Tony and Ziva jetsetted to Paris and Italy, hoping to find the answers that threaten Tony’s security business, which he founded after leaving NCIS.

It is against this backdrop that the fiery couple, loved for their sharp wit and humor, is running against time and an entirely different kind of challenging antagonist while they secure the safety of their daughter, Tali.

They are joined by a new cast that includes Amita Suman as Claudette, the chief technical officer at Tony’s Paris-based security company, and Maximilian Osinski as Boris, the skilled hacker who helps Tony and Ziva fight against their opponents.

While there may be new faces, fans of the show are wondering if well-loved characters from the mothership show will be appearing in the first season of “NCIS: Tony and Ziva.”

Would Tony and Ziva’s “father figure” Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) or Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) be making a special appearance in the show?

Cote said that for their spin-off show, they obviously had to concentrate on telling the story of Tony and Ziva, but recognized the popularity of the other NCIS characters. After all, it is where Tony and Ziva started back in 2003.

“We do name a couple of people. I don't want to give it all away, but we do remember people obviously from the references to characters from the mothership and remember that that show was huge. That's where they met. That's where they come from.

"That's their first house, you know, or maybe second house. So it's a big part of their life. Denying that would be denying something that is, you know, that it would just be very strange because that's where we met. So, anything that comes out of our show in reference to the mothership is is gonna be with a lot of love,” Cote said.

Michael said to watch out for Easter eggs, as he said that "NCIS: Tony and Ziva" is rewatchable as it brings back memories from previous seasons that could tie-in to their spin-off show.

“There's a lot Easter eggs and references and like I said, it it bears rewatching because you'll say, oh, I know what that is, if you're a fan,” Michael said.

"NCIS: Tony and Ziva" airs every Tuesday at 9:45 p.m. on ROCK Entertainment.
