Sylvia Sanchez proud to join relief drive for typhoon victims

MANILA, Philippines — Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez recently joined a relief aid in Quezon City for victims of flooding, saying it is nothing new for her and her family.
“That is part of what we do even before every time there is a typhoon,” said Sanchez, who participated in the distribution of relief goods for victims of typhoons Emong and Dante in various parts of Quezon City.
The food drive was part of the “Aksyon Agad” program of her son, actor and Rep. Arjo Atayde (1st District, Quezon City).
“We are helping those who are affected by giving them food, basic needs, and other goods,” added Sanchez.
Arjo, who was appointed assitant majority leader in the 20th Congress, himself also led the distribution of bread and drinks to thousands of policemen on duty during Monday’s State of the Nation’s Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“I am proud and happy for my son’s initiative,” Sylvia said. “He is also supported by his cousins and other relatives. So thankful.”
