With its visually striking music video, poignant lyrics and delightfully sounding blend of Mondo Castro, Diego Mapa and Kitchie Nadal’s diverse vocal styles, the newly dropped track A Thousand Voices can be a good soundtrack for a sci-fi-themed film.

A Thousand Voices is a tune about hope, resilience and divine grace. It has two versions: one is stripped-down and the other is a full band version. Think New Order, Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails.

Helmed and produced by Projekt Messiah, the AI-filled music video that “bridges music, technology, and storytelling” follows the story of a man “finding divine grace in the fallen world.”

“Eric Tubon, a.k.a. Projekt Messiah, was so enamored with the track that he agreed to slave away and painstakingly harness AI to do his bidding. It was serendipitous that he came across the latest technology in the market to do so. However, it really is his vision that made this all happen,” explained Mondo on the artistic visuals.

“I have had this song ready for the last eight years or so. But it didn’t fit in with the aesthetics of The Pin-Up Girls nor my short-lived project in The Beautiful Letdown. This was really meant for this specific collaboration and specific musicians involved,” he further told this paper.

The “very spiritual” message of the song was conveyed in the lyrics, “Lord God, I need You here/I need to know You can save my soul/Broken and used/Abandoned and abused by life/Falling through the years/Seeking comfort in the godless/Come into the Light/Found new life in You…”

Mondo, frontman of the indie band of the same name, and Kitchie, singer-songwriter of the OPM hits Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin, Same Ground and Bulong, are Diego’s longtime friends. That’s one of the reasons why the latter hopped into the music collaboration.

A Thousand Voices is now out on various music streaming platforms.
