Mr. & Miss Chinatown Phl 2013 ‘Lola’s boy,’ interior designer named winners
MANILA, Philippines - The winners of the first ever-tandem of representatives to pioneer a stronger bond of unity between two cultures were finally declared last June 30, during the grand coronation night of Mr. and Miss Chinatown Philippines held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.
The title of Mr. Chinatown Philippines 2013 and the Ambassador of Goodwill went to the self-confessed “lola’s boy†Randy See, while the title of Miss Chinatown Philippines and the Ambassadress of Goodwill went to Philippine School of Interior Design student Rolini Lim Pineda.
The two were selected out of an intense judging round done by professionals in a wide variety of fields. The judges were Richard Yap, Janine Tugonon, Cory Vidanes, Jasper Tiu, Hon. Pan Feng, Dory Poa, Knoi Esmane, Wilson Go, Angel Ngu, Jose Go and Brian Lim.
Randy displayed confidence all throughout — almost breezing through the crucial question-and-answer portion. He also proved to be a winner early on, as he also took home the Best in Active Wear award.
Rolini was a pleasant surprise when she took the stage — showing a charisma that instantly turned her into a crowd favorite. Upon the moment of the coronation, many in the audience raised their hands in favor of candidate No. 4’s victory, holding up four fingers to cheer her on.
The grand winners had the privilege of taking home P500,000 each, and were both entitled to a trip to Beijing or Shanghai, inclusive of hotel accommodations. They were also awarded a contract with ABS-CBN.
First runners-up Maricon Cho and Jerome Edward Tan were also awarded with cash prizes worth P300,000 each, and they also won a trip to Misibis Bay.
Second runners-up Michelle Marie Sy and Skye Yang each took home P200,000 in cash. They were also given accommodations in another destination, Palao Blue Water.
