BBQuito Paborito a la Betty La Fea

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda -

There’s a street party at Bacolod Chicken Inasal (BCI), and you are cordially invited. Yes, your favorite chicken inasal experts once again bring a street party into its cozy restaurants, even tag along the wacky crew of the hit ABS-CBN Primetime Bida show I Love Betty La Fea.

BCI introduces the BBQuito (pronounced as bibikito) Paborito, a type of barbeque you love to eat way back when you’re still studying. Remember those pocket-friendly, orangy, garlicky and tasty wonders you’d nibble with great delight after school? That’s exactly how the BBquito looks and tastes like, only better this time with the touch of the expert inasal makers.

BBquito Paborito meals are inspired by the character of Betty La Fea who in the Pinoy version (played by Bea Alonzo) loves to eat street foods like barbecue on her way to and from the office.

“Betty La Fea appeals to a big market, and we want to tap that,” Rose Tanalgo-Meim, one of the enterprising siblings who manage the operations of BCI, shared.

To make your choice easy, Bacolod Chicken Inasal introduces six combos — all yummy and budget friendly. BBQuito Combo 1 is called Chiquito, Ataquito and Batiqutio (chicken satay, liver and gizzard) while BBQuito Combo 2 is called Porquito, Ataquito and Isolquito (pork BBQ, liver and tail). There’s also Chiquito, Batiqutio and Isolquito (chicken satay, gizzard and tail) and the Porquito, Ataqutio and Batiquito (pork BBQ, liver and tail). These combos are yours to enjoy at only P99.50.

Other exciting combos are the BBQuito Combo 5 that comes with three sticks of Chiquito (chicken satay), while BBQuito Combo 6 has three sticks of Porquito (pork BBQ), garlic rice and 12oz iced tea. BBQuito Combo 5 and 6 are priced at only P109. All combos are served with garlic rice and 12oz iced tea.

Just recently, Bacolod Chicken Inasal and ABS-CBN joined forces to introduce to the Pinoy palate the Ysabella Chicken, a very Pinoy take on grilled chicken that instantly became a hit in the resto. The secret recipe, which a culinary whiz from ABS-CBN, developed for the once top-rating TV soap Ysabella, starred Judy Ann Santos, who eventually became Bacolod Chicken Inasal’s celebrity endorser.

The gustatory collaboration was the first of its kind licensing tie-up in the Philippines, according to Tanalgo-Meim. It also brought phenomenal rise in the sales of the popular inasal restaurant.

For people with more sophisticated tastes, Bacolod Chicken Inasal also introduces the Ecomoda Meals, which let you experience eating in a fine dining restaurant without the dizzying bill.

The Tanalgos share the best of their family’s heritage with the Pollo Galantina, which is a quarter of succulent stuffed chicken, and Liempo Sabroso (Spanish for delicious), a no-fry (read: Healthy) but crispy and juicy pork dish.

True to its name, the Ecomoda Meals are elegantly prepared to suit the taste of the elite crowd.

With the introduction of these exciting combos and meals, you now have more reason to visit Bacolod Chicken Inasal with your family, friends or officemates depending on your mood or economic situation. Aside from the mouth-watering inasal that’s a hit in every BCI resto, expect the BBQuito Paborito Combos and the Ecomoda Meals to be a fast seller as well because they are perfect match for the Filipino palate and are friendly to the pocket.

The fast-expanding chain also accepts bulk orders and has recently introduced the fruit flavored iced tea. BCI also minds the earth in its effort to minimize plastic consumption by using recycled marketing collaterals like tarpaulin to create its delivery bags.
