Ehra takes it slowly but surely
What’s next for master of disguise and heist Lupin (Richard Gutierrez) and his vamp accomplice Brigitte (Ehra Madrigal)? Tonight, the answer will unveil as GMA 7’s action series Lupin takes its final bow.
For Richard and Ehra, however, life goes on. In fact, a fantaserye based on a Carlo J. Caparas’ comic story to be helmed by Topel Lee awaits them as soon as Lupin wraps up.
“It’s titled Kamandag,” offers Ehra. “Richard has scales this time. I couldn’t give you details yet because we haven’t received a go-signal for a story con. It’s my next project after Lupin.” Taping and airing start next month, adds Ehra, one of FHM’s Sexiest.
Ehra has no qualms being paired for the second time with Richard.
“It’s always a privilege to have worked and to work with him,” says Ehra. “Working with him on Lupin means audience recall on my part. It has also made me raise the bar whenever I have a scene with him. This is to spare myself from comparison as far as acting or performing is concerned.”
Lupin is one of the many blessings Ehra is grateful for in the two years she has been in showbiz. The others are advertisers and companies like Tanduay notice her. People no longer see Ehra as Michelle Madrigal’s sister but as Richard’s leading lady.
Ehra is happy that she has stayed and waited for her turn to shine. “I want to take things slowly, but surely,” she says. Her patience paid off. From an anonymous model, Ehra moved on to become a Mulawin character (she didn’t have speaking lines then). Televiewers see her regularly on Nuts Entertainment and S.O.P.
Does Ehra have plan to kiss her sexy image good-bye?
“I’m comfortable with it,” she replies. “It’s a trend these days. Someday, I want to host a show or be part of a dance contest. I’m also looking forward to do mature acting.”
Ehra is willing to take the path sexy stars-turned-dramatic actresses like Jaclyn Jose and Elizabeth Oropesa have taken.
Asked why Lupin won many a televiewer’s heart in spite of its comic and action treatment, Ehra relates, “It’s all about friendship and love. Lupin stole for a reason. He did not kill anyone. Despite the many things he has done in his life, Lupin wants his family back together.”
