BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan, Philippines — Afternoon in-person classes at all levels in public schools in this town are suspended today until April 15 due to extreme heat.

Bayambang Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao issued Executive Order 23 suspending in-person classes in the afternoon.

Public educational institutions were directed to implement modular distance learning, performance-based tasks, projects or make-up classes as alternative means of instruction to meet the prescribed learning competencies.

Administrators of public schools were instructed to ensure that students continue to achieve academic progress through flexible learning options.

Suspension of in-person classes in private schools and other higher learning institutions under the jurisdiction of Bayambang will depend on the administrators.

Meanwhile, the eastern section of the country will continue to experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

State meteorologists said the provinces of Aurora and Quezon would experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, which may bring moderate to heavy rain.

Batanes will have cloudy skies with light rain due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
