Gela Atayde sparks ‘hard launch’ buzz with sweet greeting for Zaijian Jaranilla
MANILA, Philippines — Gela Atayde has fueled speculation that she and fellow ABS-CBN star Zaijian Jaranilla are taking their relationship to the next level after her sweet birthday greeting for the actor.
The two stars have yet to publicly put a label on their relationship. However, Gela’s message for Zaijian on his 25th birthday on August 23 appeared to give fans another reason to believe that they are romantically involved.
The daughter of actors Sylvia Sanchez and Art Atayde posted two photos with Zaijian on Instagram, accompanied by a heartfelt message in which she called the actor “sungit.”
“hbd to my idol since ‘09. Love you, sungit,” Gela wrote.
The sweet greeting immediately caught the attention of fans, with many interpreting it as a possible “hard launch” of their romance.
Dating rumors surrounding Gela and Zaijian first gained traction in July 2025 after the actress-dancer shared a TikTok video featuring a man whose face was not fully visible.
While the man’s identity was not explicitly revealed, some fans noticed that portions of his face appeared to resemble Zaijian.
“Soft love, safe arms, zero doubts. I got the best one. He makes me laugh ’til I cry, not cry ’til I have to laugh,” Gela captioned the post.
The actress later confirmed that she was in a relationship during the press conference and special screening of the Prime Video series “The Silent Noise” on March 10, 2026.
When asked why she appeared to be “blooming,” Gela admitted that she was indeed in a relationship and revealed that her partner was also from showbiz.
“Yes po. I think it’s not something I’m hiding naman po. Medyo matagal na rin po kami. I mean, recent but not too long,” she said.
Although Gela did not name her boyfriend at the time, her recent birthday message to Zaijian has once again intensified speculation that the actor is the mystery man she was referring to.
For now, the two have yet to directly confirm whether they are officially a couple.
