Duterte sa UN official: Barilin n'yo sa ulo

MANILA, Philippines – Hindi ikinatuwa ni Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte ang pagtawag na duwag ng isang opisyal ng United Nations (UN) sa Pinoy peacekeepers na naipit sa kaguluhan sa Goland Heights nitong Agosto.

Ayon sa ulat ng CNN iReport, sinabi ni Duterte sa kanyang programa na nasaktan siya sa pahayag ni UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) Commander Iqbal Singh Singha tungkol sa pakikipaglaban at pagtakas ng mga Pinoy sa Syrian rebels.

Dagdag niya na hindi dapat magpakamatay ang sundalong Pilipino para sa ibang bayan.

“I am offended sa sinabi ng isang UN general na duwag daw ang ating mga sundalo... 'pag nakita n'yo yung UN general barilin n'yo sa ulo, sabihin n'yo request ni Mayor Duterte,” wika ng alkalde.

Inulan ng batikos si Singha matapos umanong iutos sa mga Pinoy peacekeeper na isuko ang kanilang armas sa mga rebelde.

Kinatigan naman ng UN si Singha at sinabing walang ganoong utos ang UNDOF commander.

"They were never under such specific orders," pahayag ni UN Undersecretary for Peacekeeping Operations Hervé Ladsous.

"It's a matter of judgment. But, I would say again than General Singha has exercised good sound judgment all along that process."

Matapos manahimik ay binasag ni Singha ang kanyang katihimikan at sinabing unprofessional ang Pinoy peacekeepers.

"The non-professional actions of the Filipino troops have endangered the lives of the Fijian soldiers," wika ni Singha sa India Times.

Sinabi pa ni Singha na “act of cowardice” ang pagtakas ng mga Pilipino na tinaguriang “greatest escape.”

"The higher UN echelon as well as the Indian Army agrees with me that the decision was correct. It is an act of cowardice to desert posts especially when a delicate ceasefire was in place," wika ng Indian commander.
