Han So Hee, Choi Min Sik clash in 'The Intern' Korean remake
MANILA, Philippines — Veteran Korean actor Choi Min-sik gets a "fresh start" in the workplace in "The Intern," a remake of the 2015 movie of the same name starring Oscar winners Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway.
Trailers for the film getting an initial release this September sees Min-sik's Gi-ho laying out the pros and cons of being an experienced worker the past 37 years yet applying as a senior intern.
Han So-hee portrays Seon-woo, the chief executive officer of the fashion start-up that Gi-ho applies for. She is caught off guard upon learning that an intern older than her has been assigned under her and now has to keep up with the younger environment.
"Anna" and "Hospital Playlist" actor Kim Jun-han, "Reply 1988" and "Gangnam B-Side" actress Ryu Hye-young, and character actor Kim Geum-soon are among the supporting cast.
The original film from 2015 was directed, written, and co-produced by comedy filmmaker Nancy Meyers. Despite mixed reviews, it managed to earn over $195 million (P11.7 billion) against its $35 million (P2.13 billion) budget.

Min-sik is one of Korea's biggest movie stars having appeared in "Oldboy," "Lady Vengeance," "I Saw the Devil," "Exhuma," and "The Admiral: Roaring Currents," the latter being the highest-grossing Korean film.
The actor appeared in several television shows between 1990 and 1997, making his small screen comeback in "Big Bet," which was partially shot in the Philippines.
So-hee, meanwhile, is best known for "Gyeongseong Creature," "Nevertheless," "Soundtrack #1," "My Name," and "The World of the Married."
She has not appeared in anything since the movie "Project Y" last year but is being eyed for the live-action series remake of "Solo Levelling," as well as a romance show opposite Nam Joo-hyuk.
