Sen. Imee won’t be replaced – Alyansa
MANILA, Philippines — Despite having different stands on issues including the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas assured their followers that reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos will not be replaced in the administration’s senatorial slate.
Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco, campaign manager and spokesman for Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, said there are no plans to replace the eldest sister of President Marcos, citing that Alyansa respects the stand of each candidate.
“Definitely no plans to replace Sen. Imee. Definitely. That’s 100 percent. She’s part of the Alyansa candidates,” Tiangco said at a briefing at the Alyansa headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
Sen. Marcos has expressed opposition to the impeachment of the Vice President and emphasized the importance of unity and stability, suggesting that the impeachment proceedings could lead to unnecessary divisions within the country.
She also voiced concerns last year about the government’s approach to countering China’s actions in the South China Sea, suggesting that the current path may be “dangerous.”
