Bohol sinuspende biyahe ng ilang bangka dahil sa ‘overpricing ng pagkain’
MANILA, Philippines — Pansamantalang sinuspende ni Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado ang mga biyahe ng motorbanca patungong Virgin island, Panglao dahil sa nakabinbing imbestigasyon kaugnay ng napaulat na pagbebenta ng overpriced seafood sa naturang lugar.
Ito’y matapos kumalat sa social media ang resibo ng mga turista na kung saaan umabot sa P26,000 ang kanilang bill sa kinaing seafood.
"The Governor of Bohol has ordered immediate temporary suspension of motorbanca trips to Panglao’s Virgin island pending investigation on the incident of overpriced seafood sold in the area," saad sa pahayag ng opisyal, Martes.
"This followed after a social media post went viral yesterday about the overpriced seafood sold at the Virgin Island. A group of tourists paid over P26,000 last Friday for a meal that they ate while in the area."
Dagdag pa rito, sinabi rin ng pahayag na nagdulot ng pagkaalarma sa gobernador ang naturang insidente dahilan upang magkasa siya ng emergency meeting upang pag-usapan ang sitwasyon.
Kaugnay nito, nagpasalamat naman ang Department of Tourism (DOT) sa mga lokal na pamahalaan ng Bohol at Panglao para sa pag-iimbestiga nila sa napaulat na overpricing ng pagkain sa nasabing isla.
"The alleged overpricing of seafood by vendors in Virgin Island, Panglao, Bohol is a matter that the Department of Tourism (DOT) takes seriously especially as it concerns the welfare of tourists whose continued support for our destinations is critical to the recovery of the tourism industry," saad ni DOT Secretary Christina Frasco sa isang pahayag.
"My office has been in touch with the LGUs, and I thank Governor Aris Aumentado and Mayor Boy Arcay for immediately initiating an investigation into this matter, and taking initial steps at regulation," pagpapatuloy pa niya. — Philstar.com intern Vivienne Audrey Angeles
