Protesta ng San Beda ibinasura

MANILA, Philippines - Ibinasura ng NCAA Management Committee (MANCOM) ang protestang idinulog ng San Beda Red Lions sa laro laban sa Perpetual Help Altas noong Setyembre 22.

Nanalo ang Altas sa 76-75 iskor pero agad na iprinotesta ng four-time defending champion Red Lions ang laro dahil hindi umano naitawag ang 24-seconds violation dahilan upang maipasok ni Joel Jolangcob ang three-pointer sa ikatlong yugto.

Sa pagpupulong ng Mancom sa pangunguna ni chairman Paul Supan ng host Jose Rizal University kahapon, pinagpaliwanag nila si league commissioner Arturo Cristobal at naipaliwanag niya ng malinaw na wala na sa kamay ni Jolangcob ang bola kaya walang violation na nangyari.

Nakasama ni Cristobal na nagpaliwanag si technical supervisor Romy Guevarra habang si Edmundo Badolato ang kumatawan sa San Beda.

“After deliberating on the protest of SBC and hearing the explanation made by all parties, Mancom decided to deny the protest ad affirm the results of the game,” ani Supan.

Nakasama niyang duminig sa protesta ang mga Mancom members  na sina Fr. Vic Calvo, O.P. ng Letran, Melchor Divina ng Mapua, Atty. Rey-nold Munsayac ng San Sebastian, Pedro Cayco ng Arellano at Manuel Raymund Castellano ng St. Benilde. (AT)
