MANILA, Philippines —  Magsisimula ngayon ang countdown para sa 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championships sa pagsagupa ng Philippine men’s at women’s teams sa dalawang Japanese ball clubs sa Alas Pilipinas Invitationals sa Philsports Arena sa Pasig City.

Ang nasabing mga friendly matches ang magsisindi sa year-long countdown para sa makasaysayang hosting ng bansa sa 32-team world tourney sa Setyembre ng 2025.

Nakatakda ang official World Championship Draw sa Setyembre 14 tampok ang isang kickoff concert sa Malacañang sa Set­yembre 15.

Lalabanan ng Alas Pilipinas men ang six-time Japan V.League titlist Osaka Blueton sa alas-6 ng gabi.

Sa alas-3 ng hapon ay haharapin ng Alas Pilipinas women ang nine-time Japan V. League champion Saga Hisamitsu Springs.

Muling magtutuos ang apat na koponan bukas para sa pagtatapos ng kanilang friendlies bilang bahagi ng preparasyon ng Alas Pilipinas Men sa world meet.

Ang Alas Pilipinas Men ay hahawakan ni Italian coach Angiolino Frigon, habang si Brazilian mentor Jorge Souza De Brito ang gagabay sa Alas Pilipinas Women.

Bukod sa pamamahala ng Pilipinas sa men’s world championships, ang Thailand naman ang hahawak sa women’s worlds sa Agosto ng 2025.

“This is the first time for Southeast Asia to host both divisions. This is history for SEA. My new role as AVC president is to have a closer relationship with our Asian counterparts and as well as with Europe, Africa and the Americas,” ani Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) at Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.
