Muros may hamon sa San Pedro kids

MANILA, Philippines — Hinikayat ni dating Asia long jump queen  Elma Muros-Posadas ang mahigit 500 kabataan na maging atleta ng bansa sa pagda­ting ng panahon.

Ang mga kabataan ay sumali sa isinagawang Philippine Sports Commission’s Children’s Games program kahapon sa City Plaza ng San Pedro, Laguna.

Nagpasalamat naman ang dating Mayor na si Calixto Cataquiz sa  PSC sa pagdadala ng United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)-recognized program sa kanilang lungsod.

“Keep dreaming but to also keep achieving.  Baka isa na sa inyo rito ang susunod sa yapak ko. Patience, determination, discipline and respect, ang foundations sa tagumpay sa sports,” pahayag ni Muros-Posadas sa mga kabataan.

Ayon naman kay PSI deputy national director, Marlon Malbog III pinaalalahanan nila ang mga kabataan na maging malusog at deteminado para magtagumpay.

“Character development is one of the lofty goals of this program.  Teaching our children to take responsibility for small things like their trash is a big contribution to developing positivity and discipline to our nations future,” ayon kay Malbog.

Nagsagawa rin ng sports clinics ang PSC sa laro ng chess, badminton, volleyball at basketball.
