Si Pacquiao ang nanalo sa 2 laban - Roach kay Marquez

Manila, Philippines - Ilang beses nang sinabi ni Mexican Juan Manuel Mar­quez na siya ang dapat nanalo sa kanilang dalawang pag­haharap ni Filipino world-eight division champion Manny Pacquiao.

Sinabi kahapon ni trainer Freddie Roach na walang dudang ang 32-anyos na si Pacquiao ang nagwagi sa kanilang dalawang banggaan ng 38-anyos na si Marquez noong 2004 at 2008.

“I thought we won both of them,” wika ni Roach sa Boxingscene.com. “I thought Pacquiao came back at the end of the first one and won a couple of close rounds. I gave him the edge in both fights.”

Nailusot ni Marquez ang isang draw sa kanilang unang pagkikita ni Pacquiao noong Mayo ng 2004 sa kabila ng tatlong beses na pagbagsak sa first round.

Isang split decision naman ang nakuha ni Pacquiao sa kanilang rematch noong Hunyo ng 2008 para agawin kay Marquez ang suot nitong World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight crown.

“The knockdown made the difference in the second fight,” ani Roach. “But, you know, some people like this, some people like that. I thought they were great fights for boxing, I don’t think there was any robbery.”

Sa napagkasunduang catchweight fight sa 144-pounds, idedepensa ng Sarangani Congressman ang kanyang bitbit na World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight belt laban kay Marquez sa Nobyembre 12 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dala ni Pacquiao ang kanyang 53-3-2 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 38 KOs, samantalang hawak ni Marquez ang kanyang 52-5-1 (38 KOs) slate.

Makaraang kumuha ng duktor para alalayan siyang umakyat sa 144 pounds, nag-aaral naman ngayon si Marquez ng ballet para palakasin ang kanyang mga binti.
